1. Business Licenses

    Business licenses are required for all businesses, including home occupations, single-family residence rentals, apartment complexes, and businesses located outside the city, performing work within the city.

  2. City Clerk

    The City Clerk’s Office supports the City Council and City Manager, coordinates with city departments to prepare council meeting materials, and helps comply with public disclosure and open public meeting laws.

  3. City Manager

    The City Manager implements the policies and goals of the City Council and provides leadership, coordination and development of City departments.

  4. Community and Economic Development

    “Development Services” means the services the City offers to people considering or involved in the development of land and buildings.

    The Engineering Services Department plans, constructs, rehabilitates, and reconstructs the City’s streets, traffic control systems, water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure.

    Finance and Budgeting includes services such as budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, investing and use of city funds, financial policy development, debt management, risk management and purchasing.

    The mission of the City of Mountlake Terrace Police Department is to “Serve” the community with professionalism and integrity, “Support” the Constitution, Laws and Core values as set forth by its citizens and “Defend” the individual rights, human dignity and quality of life for all who live, visit and work within Mountlake Terrace.

    The mission of the Public Works Department is to guard the health, safety and welfare of the citizens by operating and maintaining the water, sewer, street and storm systems in accordance with applicable codes, policies and laws established by the City, County, State and Federal Government.
