LID Open House Display Boards

On the evening of Tuesday, September 13, Engineering and Planning staff hosted a public open house at the Ballinger Clubhouse to allow for public comment and to educate the public on the new requirements for Low Impact Development (LID). Attendees reviewed the attached display boards and low impact material samples such as 'eco' pavers and structural soil. The display boards, which are available for download here, highlight the Department of Ecology mandate for LID, which explains why the City is undertaking this project. The display boards show photos of existing stormwater conditions in the City showing the need for improved stormwater management. Other topics addressed through the display boards include the benefits of LID, LID Best Management Practices (BMPs) and Principles, the benefit of trees and images of what LID could look like when implemented.
