Lynnwood Link Extension Project Overview Located along Interstate 5 at the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center, the proposed elevated Mountlake Terrace Station will straddle 236th Street Southwest. A short walk from the future Mountlake Terrace Civic Campus and the now under-construction Terrace Station, Link Light Rail will create easier, quicker transportation options for Mountlake Terrace residents.
In November of 2015, the Sound Transit Board of Directors approved the Lynnwood Link Extension. This North Link is a key part of Sound Transit's mass transit system expansion approved by voters in 2008.
Targeted for operation in 2024, four new stations and 8.5 miles of light rail will connect Mountlake Terrace to the communities of Lynnwood, Shoreline, Seattle, SeaTac, Federal Way, Mercer Island, Bellevue and others. View a one-page overview of the project (PDF).
Additional Parking During construction of the light rail station, surface parking at the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center will be relocated to the former Rogers Market site at 232nd Street SW and 56th Avenue West. Parking in the Transit Center garage will remain.
