All Dance & Fitness group classes are being held virtually from the Mambo Broadcast studio allowing participation to happen safely in the comfort of your personal space. Check out the class descriptions below arranged much like you would find them in the craze magazine.

Weights for Strength

Yoga

With the time tested practices of Yoga you can become stronger and more flexible while expanding your self-confidence and personal power. Every Yoga class addresses breathing and energy techniques, overall strength & flexibility, core strength, balance, mental focus, range of motion and adaptations of poses for safe body alignment.


NEW!!  Yoga - Modified Lunch

Take a break in your work day for self care with Yoga.  This class is directed to seated and standing yoga activities to help you stay fit and focused during your busy work day right in your office/work space. All you'll need is a stable chair and comfortable street clothes. The power of breath and breathing techniques will be emphasized for effective core strengthening, mindfulness and meditation techniques. A 10-15 minute walk prior to class for warm-up is suggested. Yoga - Core Strength

Conditioning

Conditioning classes are designed to enhance muscle definition, and strength in all the major muscle groups including your core. Safe and healthy joint alignment, overall endurance and good balance are also goals of these classes. Flexibility training is a necessary counter balance to strengthening exercises and is incorporated into each class.


Therapeutic Stott Pilates

Core stabilizing, optimal movement patterns, injury prevention, and mind body connections are the focus. Proper body alignment, joint protection and science-based exercises help you improve your strength flexibility and wellbeing overall. Instructor: Christine Oliver

NEW!!  Senior Chair Fitness

This chair based class provides a warm-up, work phase, cool-down, and relaxation section. Enjoy the benefits of practicing good posture, breathing techniques, strength, flexibility, and balance. During the first class the instructor will talk about simple tools to gather from home to assist with exercise such as a couple of soup cans, a towel, and a small cushion or towel roll. NEW!!  Stretch & Strength - Modified Lunch

Benefit from strength and flexibility exercises you can perform right in your office/work space. Emphasis will be on active, body weight exercises. Guided by a licensed physical therapist, you'll receive an individual assessment as well as a tailored exercise program to address strength, flexibility, aerobic endurance, coordination and balance. work with guidance to improve your physical and personal power.

Dance Programs

Fall Session 10/27-12/17

Our excellent instructors provide a structured approach to dance, with emphasis on technique, creativity, and building self-esteem.

In our virtual program dancers are expected to be punctual and in dress code. As we navigate this new way of learning together  dancers will be instructed in expected conference-call class etiquette.

Pre-School Dance

Creative Dance (Age 3)

Boys & girls develop strength, coordination and flexibility while experiencing the joy of dancing. Children must meet the age requirement by the first day of class.

Creative Dance (Ages 4-6)

Boys & girls develop strength, coordination and flexibility while experiencing the joy of dancing. Ballet exercises will be introduced with creative games and stories. Children must meet the age requirement by the first day of class.

Tap & Ballet (Ages 4-6)

Boys & girls are introduced to the preliminary steps of ballet and the fundamentals of rhythm through tap techniques. Creative games and fun songs are a great way to introduce the joy of dancing to the inquisitive beginner.

Tap (Adult/Teen)

This fun and inspiring dance form is great for balance, agility, musicality and provides a great opportunity for self-expression as you work your way through articulations of the feet and fun routines. Ballet

Tuesdays 10/27-12/15

Build strength, flexibility and grace in a non-competitive, encouraging environment. These traditional classes focus on ballet vocabulary, correct alignment, and finding personal expression within the form. Barre-work and center floor exercises will be explored in an appropriate way for each level. Students may be place in a different level after evaluation in the first week of classes.


Pre-Ballet (Ages 5-7)

Kindergarten and first graders learn basic ballet positions, preparatory steps and creative dance exercises for a well-rounded dance experience. Musicality and classroom etiquette are emphasized in a friendly encouraging environment.

This class is for beginners and returning students in 2nd through 5th grade.

Jazz Dance

Class includes warm up with Jazz technique and drills, body isolations and fun rhythmic routines. Build strength and coordination while listening to a wide variety of music.

Lyrical / Contemporary Dance

Thursdays 10/29-12/17

This is a popular free flowing dance form that uses elements of Ballet, and Modern dance to express the words to the music. It's often seen in music videos and TV dance competitions.


Lyrical / Contemporary I / II (Ages 7-11)

This class is for beginners and returning students in 2nd through 5th grade.

Dress Code

In General:

1. Never wear your dance shoes outside. Always change your shoes and use them in your designated dance space.

2. Everyone's hair must be secured off their face so they can focus on learning to move.

3. Jeans and other non flexible fabrics are not appropriate for dance.

Creative Dance

Boys- sweats or shorts and a plain t-shirt, bare feet

Girls - any color leotard, footless tights or leggings, bare feet

Pre-Ballet & Ballet I -VI

Boys- plain t-shirt, black tights or leggings, black leather ballet shoes

Girls - black leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes

Level II - VI must have their hair in a bun. Pre-Ballet & level I are practicing buns every week.

Tap & Ballet

Boys - plain t-shirt, black leggings, black leather ballet shoes & black tap shoes

Girls - black leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes, hair in a ponytail or bun

Tap / Jazz / Lyrical

Boys & Girls - black jazz pants, plaint t-shirt or leotard

Tap shoes, Jazz shoes, bare feet - respectively
