The City of Mountlake Terrace serves as the gateway to Snohomish County, conveniently located just 13 miles north of downtown Seattle along the Interstate 5 corridor.

In Mountlake Terrace, 85% of our residents live within walking distance of a bus stop. Community Transit provides local bus service within Snohomish County along with several commuter routes to downtown Seattle and Sound Transit offers express bus service to Seattle and Everett from the Mountlake Terrace Freeway Station.  

Community Transit's Mountlake Terrace Transit Center has structured parking for over 900 vehicles and facilitates Community Transit bus service and some King County Metro bus routes.
Plans for a  Sound Transit light rail station in Mountlake Terrace are underway. The new station is scheduled to open in 2023. 

Community Transit offers Dial-A-Ride transportation (DART) services for people with limited access to regular bus service or whose health or disability condition prevents the use of fixed bus routes.
AmtrakSounder Train and Washington State Ferry service is located in the neighboring city of Edmonds.
