Mountlake Terrace’s new City Manager Scott Hugill was sworn in by City Attorney Greg Schrag at the City Council’s June 6 meeting.
Hugill has been the Interim City Manager for the City of Mountlake Terrace since September 2015 and served a previous stint as Interim City Manager in 2013-2014. He has served in the role of Administrative Services Director and Assistant City Manager in Mountlake Terrace since August 2004. Prior to that, Hugill was City Administrator for the City of Leavenworth, WA for over six years.
Hugill has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Western Washington University, and a Master of Public Administration Degree from Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA.
“With Scott at the helm, we’ve already hit the ground running to address our critical financial issues including the proposed levy lid lift and implementing economic development strategies. Since he’s already familiar with our city, we are moving forward quickly to make progress toward that end,” stated City Clerk/Community Relations Director Virginia Olsen.
Olsen added, “Upcoming priorities include review of City Council goals and workplan on June 20 and discussion of reductions if the levy does not pass on June 30 so the staff can prepare our proposed 2017-18 Biennial Budget for City Council review in the fall.”
