[ARCHIVED] Sound Transit Open House on Light Rail Station

Sound Transit is hosting an open house on the design of the City of Mountlake Terrace light rail station and other amenities on Thursday, November 17, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Nile Shrine Country Club, located at 6601 244th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace. Images of Sound Transit’s future Mountlake Terrace light rail station will be shown. A brief presentation by Sound Transit will begin at 6:10 p.m.

The open house will provide an opportunity for the public to see displays, ask questions about, and provide feedback on: station design, project plans, station names, benefits and potential impacts of the project, public art, and related projects such as the rail stations in Shoreline and Lynnwood.

The Mountlake Terrace station will be built at the existing Mountlake Park & Ride at 236th Street SW and I-5. The station is part of the Sound Transit 2 (ST2) Plan approved by voters in 2008 and runs from Northgate in Seattle to Lynnwood. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2018. The rail line and station are to open in 2023.

It is very important for the community to attend to tell Sound Transit what they want the station and amenities to look like, as well as to provide input on elements such as the plaza area and need for additional parking beyond what the Park & Ride currently has.

If you can't make it to the meeting, visit Sound Transit’s online open house at lynnwoodlink.participate.online. More information about light rail is available on Sound Transit’s website at http://www.soundtransit.org/About-Sound-Transit/Calendar/111716.
