Input from local residents and local businesses is very important. A community open house will be held Wednesday, April 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Mountlake Terrace Library to share information and obtain ideas and suggestions from the community .
Mountlake Terrace is preparing its annual amendment to the citywide 2017 Comprehensive Plan. The City Council has determined the final docket of items under consideration include amendments to the Town Center Sub-Area Plan.
The purpose of amendments to the Comprehensive Plan is to ensure it continues to reflect the community’s goals and objectives, is consistent with state laws, and is responsive to changes in conditions and circumstances.
The final docket for 2017 includes to: 1) designate certain public lands as Park and Open Space; 2) possibly amend the Town Center Plan to expand the super-block; 3) amend Land Use Element text and maps for consistency with changed circumstances and related Town Center area plans; 4) amend the Recreation, Parks and Open Space Element for location of special parks and policies related to financing of parks; and 5) review the actions to take to implement the Economic Vitality Element.

The city is mailing a postcard to all residents with the date, time, and location of the open house. Public comment is welcome at any time on the city’s website and through social media.
