[ARCHIVED] Cannabis Store Robbery Suspects Apprehended

On November 21 at approximately 11:43 p.m., Mountlake Terrace Patrol units were dispatched to a robbery in progress at Rainier Cannabis, 22002 64th Avenue W. #2A. The reporting party, who was off site, was observing the robbery as it occurred from their surveillance system.

One suspect was armed with an AR-15 rifle and the other with a handgun. Patrol officers arrived just as the two male suspects exited the business. The suspects immediately retreated into the store and fled out the back. One suspect was observed dropping his rifle as he ran behind a nearby business and jumped a fence.

Containment was set and a K9 track was conducted. After a long track, one suspect was captured hiding inside a boat and another was found near a residence on 64th Avenue W. One suspect was also arrested for an outstanding $400,000 burglary warrant. The other suspect was found to be a convicted felon on active supervision for robbery 1st degree. Both suspects were transported to the Snohomish County Jail and booked for robbery 1st degree. Additional charges are pending.

The Police Department received mutual aid assistance from all neighboring agencies, as well as officers from Everett, Seattle, King County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Patrol.
