[ARCHIVED] Sound Transit Light Rail Open House, Janaury 23

The event will be held at the Ballinger Clubhouse (Senior/Community Center) located at 23000 Lakeview Drive in Mountlake Terrace from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Public comment is encouraged.

Sound Transit plans to construct 2.2 miles of light rail guideway along I-5 and a light rail station at the 236th Street SW Park-n-Ride. The work includes construction staging, tree removal, work in steep slopes and wetland buffers, and night work for a period of about five years (2019-2024). Elements of the project will be located in and around properties within the City of Mountlake Terrace.

The open house is part of a land use review process for the Sound Transit Lynnwood Light Rail Extension (LLE). The city received application materials for the review of a Conditional Use Permit, Site Development Permit, and Reasonable Use Exemption on September 20, 2018. In preparation for a public hearing with the Mountlake Terrace Hearing Examiner, the city is currently conducting a land use review process. The public hearing is anticipated to be conducted in the spring of 2019.

Further information will be provided as part of the ongoing public review process. Questions can be directed to Christy Osborn, Community and Economic Development Director at cosborn@ci.mlt.wa.us or at (425) 563-8687.
