Main Street Construction to Close 56th & 236th

The City of Mountlake Terrace is starting construction on its Main Street Revitalization Project.

The project includes installation of larger sewer lines on 56th Avenue W. This work will require daytime roadway closures on 56th Avenue W from 236th Street SW to 237th Street SW from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday, March 19, 2019.

Detours will be in place along 56th Avenue W, Southbound – right on 235th Street SW, left on 58th Avenue W, left on 237th Street SW, right on 56th Avenue W. and Northbound – right on 238th Street SW, left on 54th Avenue W, left on 234th Street SW and right on 56th Avenue W.

On 236th Street SW detours include Westbound – right on 54th Avenue W, left on 234th Street SW, left on 58th Avenue W, right on 236th Street SW. For Eastbound – right on 58th Avenue W, left on 238th Street SW, left on 54th Avenue W, right on 236th Street SW.

These closures are necessary for the contractor to complete the installation of the new sewer line. City staff are working with the contractor to make sure that all affected parties receive advanced warning of the closures. Roadside message boards are being deployed on Friday, March 15 to alert the public.
