The 41st Annual Arts of the Terrace Juried Art Show is set for Saturday, September 21 through Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Avenue West. Sponsored by the Mountlake Terrace Arts Commission and the Friends of the Arts, “Arts of the Terrace” is one of the major juried art shows held in the Pacific Northwest and attracts top artists from throughout the region.
A patrons’ preview and artists’ awards ceremony is scheduled for Friday, September 20 at the Mountlake Terrace Library. The show opens to the public on Saturday, September 21.
This year’s art entries for juried competition include works from as far away as New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Florida and Idaho, along with those from Washington State. A record 170 artists entered the Arts of the Terrace with a final selection of over 347 works making the final cut to be in the show. As a juried art show, artists compete for more than $5,000 in cash awards and art merchandise.
This year’s judges include William G. Hook for painting, prints, drawings and miniatures. Mel Curtis for photography, Michael Magrath for 3-dimensional and artisans’ works and Dewey Henderson for calligraphy.
The show is free and open to the public September 21 through October 5, 2019, Monday through Thursday, 12 noon to 6:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 11 to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, 1:00-5:00 p.m. The Mountlake Terrace Library is located at 23300 58th Avenue W.
