[ARCHIVED] Sound Transit Night Work at 236th and I-5

Thursday, May 20, Sound Transit’s contractor will work at night on 236th Street SW between the northbound I-5 off-ramp and 59th Place West. In addition, the I-5 northbound off-ramp will be closed. 

The contractor has obtained a Temporary Noise Variance for moderate construction and engine noise at night to install girders for future bridge and mobilization of machinery at 236th Street SW. This construction will begin Thursday, May 20 at 11:00 p.m. and conclude by 5:00 a.m. on Friday, May 21.  

Drivers travelling eastbound on 236th Street SW will be directed with the following detour:  I-5 southbound to 244th Street SW, eastbound to 56th Avenue W, then northbound on 56th Avenue W (see map).

Drivers travelling westbound on 236th Street SW will be directed with the following detour:  southbound on 56th Avenue West to 244th Street SW, westbound on 244th to northbound I-5, to the 220th Street exit (see map). 

Please plan ahead, leave early, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Be prepared for delays while this work takes place.
