Construction Notice: 66th Ave W - UPDATE 10/30/2023

Update 10/30/23:
The 66th Ave W Pavement Reconstruction Project has been rescheduled for next spring.
This is due to supply chain issues and inclement weather setting in.
Once construction begins, this project is expected to take roughly four months.
We’ll share more as a start date nears.


Update 9/22/23:
Starting today, you’ll see electronic signs for upcoming lane restrictions and road closures for 66th Ave W Reconstruction. This phase of work will likely start next week and continue into mid-November.

For the first week or so, expect delays on 66th between 216th/220th.

Next will be a full closure of 66th from 216th to the Interurban Trail at city limits. The intersection at 216th will remain open for east-west traffic.

Thank you for your patience during this important infrastructure project. We’ll share updates as construction continues into 2024.

Original post from 9/12/23: Expect major construction to start September 18 on 66th Ave W, between 220th St SW and the Interurban Trail. A city project will remove the existing roadway and build a new one, with improvements for pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers. Expect lane closures and detours. The project will take about a year.
