[ARCHIVED] Mountlake Terrace Tree Lighting Ceremony

FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT:
Virginia Olsen, City Clerk/Community Relations Director, (425) 744-6206

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE—The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is Friday, December 4, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Evergreen Playfield, 22205 56th Ave W and features a concert by Mountlake Terrace Elementary and Terrace Park Elementary School students, a visit from Santa and the traditional lighting of the tree. This year’s Tree Lighting Ceremony is sponsored by Vineyard Park at Mountlake Terrace.

Visible for miles around, the enormous "tree" is actually a frame constructed of over 1800 lights and placed on top of the city's water tower. The LED lights use only 25% of the power as the old lights while containing twice as many lights.

The Tree Lighting Ceremony brings our community together with holiday spirit. Tour de Terrace volunteers serve cookies, hot coffee and cocoa while Santa meets with the children. Experienced attendees know that Santa will make his grand entrance on a Fire Truck!

Guests should dress warm and wear boots if the weather is wet. The event is free, however cash donations will be accepted for the Michelle Ringler Youth Recreation Scholarship Fund. Since 2002, the Fund has helped over 400 children register for recreation programs at the Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion.

For more information, please call the Recreation Pavilion at (425) 776-9173 or visit www.cityofmlt.com.
