Council Selects Leaders and Committees
MOUNTLAKE
TERRACE—At the City Council’s January 4 meeting, Councilmember Kyoko Matsumoto
Wright, who has served on council since 2008, was selected to serve as Mayor
Pro Tem for 2017. Jerry Smith is continuing his second year in a two-year term as
Mayor. Mayor Smith is beginning his 16th year on City Council and 14th
as Mayor.
The City Council also named
their 2017 representatives for city and intergovernmental boards. The City Council’s
regional leadership has been an important component of establishing and
maintaining partnerships, which is beneficial for grant opportunities and
leveraging limited resources.
Mayor Jerry Smith will
serve on the city’s Finance Committee, the LEOFF I Disability Board, SNOCOM (911
Dispatch), and Snohomish County Emergency Radio System (SERS) Board. He
continues to serve on the Community Transit Board of Directors.
Mayor Pro Tem Kyoko
Matsumoto Wright will serve on the SeaShore Transportation Forum, Snohomish
County Tomorrow Steering Committee, Alliance for Housing Affordability, and Snohomish
Health District Board.
Councilmember Laura
Sonmore will serve on the Lake Ballinger/McAleer Creek Watershed Forum.
Councilmember Rick
Ryan will serve as liaison to the city’s Arts Advisory Commission and the Community
Policing Advisory Board.
Councilmember Doug
McCardle will be the Council liaison to the city’s Recreation and Parks
Advisory Commission. He continues to serve on the LEOFF I Disability Board.
Councilmember Seaun
Richards will serve on SNOCOM (911 Dispatch).
Councilmember Bryan
Wahl will serve on the city’s Finance Committee, the Puget Sound Regional
Council’s Regional Transit-Oriented Development Committee, and alternate to the
SeaShore Transportation Forum, Snohomish County Tomorrow Steering Committee,
and Alliance for Housing Affordability.
