[ARCHIVED] MLT Library to Provide Relief from Hot Weather

Due to high temperatures predicted this week, the Mountlake Terrace Library, located at 23300 58th Avenue West, is offering people a place to stay cool during the heat of the day. The library is open Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays 1 to 5 p.m. For more information, please call the library at (425) 776-8722.

The Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion offers indoor swimming. Check the schedule at http://www.cityofmlt.com/DocumentCenter/Home/View/11113. Rates are $4.50 for youth and seniors, and $5.50 for adults. Resident discounts are available. Please check the Recreation website for details at www.mltrec.com or call (425) 776-9173 for more information.

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued an excessive heat warning for the Puget Sound area from 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 1 until 9 p.m. (Pacific Daylight Time) Friday, August 4. Residents are encouraged to take precautions and check on relatives and neighbors. Never leave children or pets in a vehicle, even with the windows rolled down.
