[ARCHIVED] Design Process Begins on the New Civic Campus

The first community meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 5 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Avenue W. Discussion will focus on imagery and a vision for the new City Hall and Police Station expansion including the lobbies/customer service areas, Council Chambers, and future gathering spaces.

The second community meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 11 at the Senior Community Center, 23000 Lakeview Drive and will focus on reviewing design options and concepts that were incorporated from input received at the April meeting.

For each event, doors will open at 6:00 p.m. with presentations beginning at 6:30 p.m. A third community meeting will be scheduled sometime this fall.

“We hope to continue the fantastic community involvement from last year and that everyone will stay engaged and provide input on project design,” stated Community Relations Director Virginia Olsen.

The timeline includes wrapping up design in the fall with the project bid going out in January of 2019. Construction would take place in 2019-2020 and move in anticipated in late 2020.

Notifications include the April issue of City Happenings, a postcard mailer, email/text subscription notices, social media, website, Pavilion reader board, and signage in the library’s lobby.

For more information, please email cityhall@ci.mlt.wa.us or call Community Relations Director Virginia Olsen at (425) 744-6206.
