[ARCHIVED] City of MLT Launches New Website

The city’s website was last updated in 2007.

“Modernization of our city’s website was long overdue,” said Community Relations Director Virginia Olsen. “We are excited to offer our citizens a more professional website utilizing better technology to enhance civic engagement and provide a mobile website for easier accessibility and use.”

Designed with the user in mind, the new site features intuitive navigation, quickly directing users to the information they need the most. City departments are listed under the “Government” navigation menu, commonly used services are listed by function under the “Services” menu, and most commonly asked questions and sought after information are located under the “How Do I” menu. Other navigation menus include “Business” and “Community” where website visitors can learn more about the city and doing business here.

The new website includes improved functionality that boosts site visitors’ ability to interact with City of Mountlake Terrace offices. The enhanced functionality includes:

• A “Notify Me” notification system where users can sign up for a number of updates including emergency alerts, news and job openings.
• The jobs module allows applicants to view jobs and apply for city jobs online.
• An Archive Center featuring Council and Commission agendas and minutes.

“MLT Anytime” continues on this website under the green “Information” button. This program can be used to find useful information when city offices are closed or to report concerns such as streetlight outages and code enforcement issues.

The City of Mountlake Terrace partnered with government website specialist CivicPlus to create the new site. CivicPlus has developed more than 2,000 government websites across the country, and its content management system allows our staff to quickly and easily update the website.

Mountlake Terrace is a beautiful community so we invite the public to submit their scenic photos of the city to share on the new website and a photo credit will be provided. Look for the green and white camera icon on the homepage for more information. The new site also includes much quicker access to Recreation and Pavilion pool activities with several design features paying tribute to the city’s iconic indoor pool.

Please visit the new site, learn more about the community, and explore its new functionality. It’s a great way to find out more about the city and stay informed about local government.
