[ARCHIVED] Evergreen Award Winners Invest in Community They Love

Held September 26, the program encourages beautification efforts in the city by recognizing residents and businesses who take pride in maintaining their properties. This program also helps promote conservation as part of the city’s sustainability strategy.

This year’s presentation featured 25 award winning properties, including 13 Best Maintained Residence Awards from six neighborhoods. In addition, 12 Best Transformation Awards recognized owners who renovated their properties to become assets to the community.

Winners received a plaque to display at their property and viewed a slide show of winning properties. Narration for the slide show included a description of the main features and/or improvements made, along with stories of what people love about Mountlake Terrace. Common themes included friendly neighbors, sense of community, proximity to Seattle, and easy freeway access.

"Thank you to our property owners who maintain their properties to high standards, invest in our city, and improve our community,” stated Community Relations Director Virginia Olsen. “The Evergreen Awards is an opportunity to acknowledge those who are making positive changes in our community.”

More information about the Evergreen Awards is available at www.cityofmlt.com/481. Or contact City Hall our Community Relations Division at cityhall@ci.mlt.wa.us or (425) 744-6203.
