At the May 6 City Council meeting, Police Chief Pete Caw administered the oath of office to new Police Sergeant Brian Moss who was recently promoted in the City of Mountlake Terrace Police Department.
Sergeant Moss, who has a BA Degree in Criminal Justice from Washington State University, started with the city as a Patrol Officer in 2009. Sergeant Moss commented that he grew up in Yakima and was the youngest of five children in his family. He is married and has one child.
“I am excited about the direction the city is going and want to be a part of it,” Sergeant Moss said. Sergeant Moss is responsible for supervising a nightshift patrol squad.
Chief Caw said, “Brian Moss has proven over the years that he is fully capable of handling the responsibility of being a Police Sergeant. This position is often the “boots on the ground” individual who makes important decisions in the first few moments of a critical incident.”
