[ARCHIVED] Town Center Subarea Plan Upcoming Meetings

Town Center Map Recommended by Planning Commission

The next City Council work/study session on Thursday, August 15, will include a review of the Town Center Subarea Plan. Public comment will be accepted at this meeting.

At its July 22 special meeting, the City Council encouraged ongoing community input on the Town Center Subarea Plan Update and to contact the city with comments. To provide input, you may either attend a meeting and provide verbal comments, write a letter to the City Council or email cosborn@ci.mlt.wa.us. Your comments are a part of the public record being forwarded to the City Council as they continue to work through their review of the Plan and supporting documents over the next month.

An upcoming opportunity to ask questions about the Plan include the August 14 Coffee with the City event from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Recreation Pavilion.

On Monday, September 16, the City Council is tentatively scheduled for a public hearing on the Comprehensive Plan and Development Regulations related to the Town Center Subarea Plan. Final City Council action on the Town Center Subarea Plan is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m.

The August 1 and 5 City Council meetings concerning the Town Center Subarea Plan were related specifically to the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement also known as the SEIS that has been prepared as part of the Plan.

The Draft SEIS can be reviewed at City Hall and on the city website at www.cityofmlt.com/338. A 30-day comment period on the Draft SEIS runs through 4:00 p.m. on August 19, 2019. The SEIS will supplement the Mountlake Terrace Town Center Planned Action and Zoning Regulations Final Environmental Impact Statement (Final EIS), published in August 2007, and the Town Center Planned Action Final EIS Addendum, published in April 2013.

All meeting dates are tentative. Please reconfirm with the City Clerk’s Office closer to the dates after August 15 at 425-744-6206 or cityhall@ci.mlt.wa.us. You may visit www.cityofmlt.com/469 for City Council meeting agendas, materials, and audio. All the meetings will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Interim City Hall Council Chambers, 6100 219th Street SW #220, Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043 unless otherwise posted. Once again, input may be provided by email at cosborn@ci.mlt.wa.us or by handwritten letter to the address above, or in person at one or more of the meetings. Thank you in advance for your participation.
