[ARCHIVED] MLT Councilmembers Take Oaths and Select Leaders

At its first meeting of the year, the Mountlake Terrace City Council selected Kyoko Matsumoto Wright to serve as Mayor for a two-year term, 2020-2021. Matsumoto Wright has served as Mayor since December 2018 when longtime Mayor Jerry Smith passed away. Doug McCardle was selected to serve a second one-year term as Mayor Pro Tem through 2020. Newly-elected Councilmembers Erin Murray, Laura Sonmore, Bryan Wahl and Steve Woodard were administered the Oath of Office.

Additionally, at the regular meeting on January 6, Edmonds School District Superintendent Dr. Kristine McDuffy provided highlights of school district business and the Council approved the Lodging Tax Committee’s (LTAC) recommendations. The City Council allocated $7,000 to Mountlake Terrace Friends of the Arts for “Arts of the Terrace” Juried Art Show and $15,000 to Tour de Terrace for their Seafair summer festival.
