[ARCHIVED] MLT Recreation Launches YouTube Channel

Mountlake Terrace Recreation and Parks has launched a new YouTube Channel called “Recreation Pavilion.” During the Governor’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” Order, the city’s Recreation and Parks Department took that message to heart and creatively found a way to keep their dance and fitness class participants active and learning.

Currently the channel is being used to distribute dance and fitness instructional videos to Recreation Pavilion customers and we invite others to join in and stay active during the quarantine too.  Our instructors have made recordings at home that focus on the classes they were teaching before the “Stay Home” Order was issued. The channel will showcase our dance and fitness classes as well as other fun videos created by our recreation staff.

To find the channel on YouTube, go to www.youtube.com and search” Recreation Pavilion.” The channel includes several playlists and are organized by class. Currently, there are videos for ballet, tap, Irish step, pre-Jazz, and lyrical classes. Fitness classes with uploads include Gentle Yoga and Stott Pilates both of which are great fitness activities in small spaces. New offerings are being posted regularly and our videos are free and open to the public so feel free to share. We hope to keep everyone moving and upbeat!

Links to the channel are also posted on the “Mountlake Terrace Recreation and Parks” Facebook page. Be sure to subscribe and receive notifications when new videos are uploaded. For more information contact the Recreation Pavilion at 425-776-9173.
