Thursday, May 20, Sound Transit’s contractor will work at night on 236^th Street SW between the northbound I-5 off-ramp and 59^th Place West. In addition, the I-5 northbound off-ramp will be closed. 

The contractor has obtained a Temporary Noise Variance for moderate construction and engine noise at night to install girders for future bridge and mobilization of machinery at 236th Street SW. This construction will begin Thursday, May 20 at 11:00 p.m. and conclude by 5:00 a.m. on Friday, May 21.  

Drivers travelling eastbound on 236^th Street SW will be directed with the following detour:  I-5 southbound to 244^th Street SW, eastbound to 56^th Avenue W, then northbound on 56^th Avenue W (see map).

Drivers travelling westbound on 236^th Street SW will be directed with the following detour:  southbound on 56^th Avenue West to 244^th Street SW, westbound on 244^th to northbound I-5, to the 220^th Street exit (see map). 

Please plan ahead, leave early, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Be prepared for delays while this work takes place.
