[ARCHIVED] Mountlake Terrace Selects New City Manager

Following a two-day interview process May 13-14, the City Council selected Interim City Manager Scott Hugill as the next Mountlake Terrace City Manager at their May 16 regular meeting. The appointment is pending approval of an employment contract with mutually agreeable terms scheduled for the June 6 Council meeting.

Mr. Hugill has been the Interim City Manager for the City of Mountlake Terrace since September 2015. Mr. Hugill has served in the role of Administrative Services Director and Assistant City Manager in Mountlake Terrace since August 2004. Prior to that, he was City Administrator for the City of Leavenworth, WA for over six years. Mr. Hugill worked in the City Manager’s office for the City of Lacey, WA from 1991-1998.

Mr. Hugill has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Western Washington University, and a Master of Public Administration Degree from Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA.

“Scott’s been a leader in our organization for over 12 years. With his institutional knowledge and familiarity with the community, he can hit the ground running to address several major priorities the city faces,” stated City Clerk/Community Relations Director Virginia Olsen. “We’re looking forward to working together to implement the City Council goals and move the city forward.”
