Do I shut off my gas immediately after an earthquake?
Not unless you smell or hear gas escaping. If you do suspect a gas leak, shut it off. Only the gas company should turn the gas back on. Call your gas company so they can perform an inspection, turn it on and relight pilot lights. Mountlake Terrace residents can contact Puget Sound Energy toll-free at 1-888-225-5773 from 7:30am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
